The editorial board statute

The Editorial Board is a professional body that guarantees the profile and structure of the journal and its professional standards. Membership on the Editorial Board is voluntary and honorary and terminates upon resignation. Members of the Editorial Board are entitled to one copy of the printed version of each issue of the journal.

Tasks of the members of the Editorial Board:

  • To discuss the content of individual issues of the journal at the Editorial Board meetings.
  • To approve the form and editorial standards for the processing of contributions.
  • To adopt systemic solutions to improve the journal.
  • To participate in the promotion of the journal and the acquisition of new contributions.
  • To propose suitable reviewers.
  • Not to disclose the names of reviewers to authors of the contributions or other third parties, nor the names of the authors of reviewed contributions to the reviewers or other third parties.
  • To discuss fundamental measures for publishing activities.
  • To determine the concept of the journal and approve the content of individual issues.
  • To propose suitable editorial collaborators (e.g., translators, etc.).
  • To participate in the Editorial Board meetings.
  • To review materials submitted by the editorial staff and comment on them.
  • To comment on professional contributions, recommend and approve them for publication, or propose edits, returns, or rejections of individual contributions.
  • To comment on differing opinions of authors and reviewers, if any arise.

Chair of the editorial board:

  • Manages the activities of the Editorial Board.
  • Acts on behalf of the Editorial Board, especially in relation to the outside world.
  • The chair of the Editorial Board has two votes

The editorial board meetings:

  • The Editor-in-Chief convenes the Editorial Board as needed
  • The Editorial Board meetings are held at least once per calendar year, or as needed by the editorial office.
  • The Editorial Board has a quorum if a majority of all members of the Editorial Board are present.

Confidentiality of information:

  • The Editorial Board meetings are closed to the public and minutes are taken, which are submitted to the members of the Editorial Board and then stored in the magazine's archives. The minutes are not public and are confidential.
  • All statements made by members of the Editorial Board during or in connection with the Editorial Board meetings are private and confidential.
  • All reviews of professional contributions are private and confidential.
  • Members of the Editorial Board are required to maintain confidentiality regarding all private and confidential information and documents disclosed to them during or in connection with the Editorial Board meetings. This obligation shall survive even after the termination of their membership in the Editorial Board.
